Siversk Mayor to Visit
Alexei Vorobyov, leader of Siversk, Ukraine, will visit Weston on September 11 along with a delegation of his counterparts from other Ukrainian cities participating in Ukraine Aid International’s Sister City Partnership program.
Details of the visit are a developing story, but on August 26 UAI staff and First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor set a general framework.
A public event on the 11th is planned for 10:00 am on the Town Green, where everyone will have a chance to hear from Mr. Vorobyov and others in the delegation. (Earlier that morning, at 9:00, Weston holds its annual 9/11 observance.)
Planning for specific activities is underway, but Mr. Vorobyov should have a chance to get to know Weston for a few hours before rejoining the delegation for the rest of the group’s itinerary.
The delegation includes Vadym Fillaskin, governor of the Donetsk Oblast and Sergii Kalian, the leader of the Bakhmut District.
