Letter: Shout-out to Traum

To the Editor:

With voting now in the rear-view mirror, I’d like to give a shout out to Selectman Lauren Traum for her perspective throughout the Charter revision process. She listened to residents at the various public hearings, read and internalized the communications received by email, and reached out to and engaged with residents individually. She understood what rights town residents wanted our “constitution” to include—the vote at the ATBM, a simple majority on boards and commissions, and more robust fiscal oversight than was proposed. We’re never going to agree on everything. However, I implore members of all boards and commissions to please listen, really listen, to your constituents as they share their thoughts and opinions with you on various topics, and act accordingly. Thank you, Lauren.
