After ten years at the helm of Weston Middle School, Principal Dan Doak will retire from the school district on June 30, as announced at the Board of Education meeting on February 24.

Mr. Doak was appointed middle school principal in June of 2015 after seven years as assistant principal of Weston High School.

At the meeting, Ms. Barbiero reminisced about when Mr. Doak first joined the district, in 2008. Board members praised him as “a very special person,” an always positive, calming presence for students in their “most challenging developmental years.”

Mr. Doak’s departure is the third of the district’s leadership team set to occur at the end of the school year, following the previously announced retirements of Superintendent Lisa Barbiero and Weston Intermediate School Principal Pattie Falber.
