Weston Intermediate School Principal Pattie Falber will retire from the Weston Public School District on June 30, three full decades after first being hired as a full time 5th grade teacher at Weston Middle School.

Ms. Falber’s retirement was announced at the Board of Education meeting on January 21.

As her career in Weston progressed, Ms. Falber was assistant principal at Hurlbutt Elementary School, the first assistant principal of the newly built intermediate school in 2005, and for the past 15 year its principal.

Speaking for the administration, Human Resources Director Juliane Givoni praised Ms. Falber’s “unwavering advocacy for students, her thoughtful leadership of staff, and her commitment to the profession.” Under Ms. Falber’s leadership, said Ms. Givoni, “WIS has flourished.”

Members of the board expressed their admiration for Ms. Falber, and Superintendent Lisa Barbiero, who announced her own retirement last November, said, “You and I have served a long road in this district.”
