In a podcast by the Y’s Men of Westport-Weston, First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor and Friends of Lachat president Carol Baldwin talk about Lachat Town Farm, which according to Ms. Nestor is often referred to as “the Coachella of Fairfield County.”

Ms. Baldwin recounts how she and a group of other volunteers developed a plan for the farm in 2010 and raised funds to rescue it from dire straits. She says the initiative’s success and progress since that time “totally exemplifies the concept of ‘it takes a village.’”

Ms. Nestor and Ms. Baldwin discuss the wide variety of programs that take place at the farm, ranging from musical performances to nature programs for kids to a Giving Garden that assists people facing food insecurity.

Part two of this podcast can be heard here.

New editions of the podcast appear on Mondays, alternating between Ms. Nestor and Westport First Selectwoman Jen Tooker.
