Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

With Election Day coming up on November 8th I felt it was critically important to let the town of Weston know just how effective and present a State Representative we have in Anne Hughes.

Having represented Weston for the last 4 years, I’ve worked with her on any number of projects as First Selectwoman and also while serving on the Board of Selectmen. What I’m always impressed by is how in tune to our town’s needs Anne is.

Whenever there is an opportunity to apply for a state grant that could benefit Weston, Anne lets us know. Whenever there is a chance to boost Weston’s profile as a quaint, safe, educationally-strong community Anne is the first one out of the gate raving about our little town.

She is an invaluable partner in governance who has been instrumental in helping us town officials secure funding to complete some of our town’s most pressing priorities. Most recently, she supported our efforts in securing a $500,000 STEAP grant for our police station.

We are so lucky to have had such an attentive and effective State Representative in Anne Hughes and I hope you will join me in supporting her on Election Day this November 8th. The polls will be open from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm at the Weston Middle School.

— Samantha Nestor
Weston First Selectwoman
