Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

I am writing in support of re-electing Jim Himes as Congressman for the 4th District of CT.

This November, and the months and years following, much is as stake for our country. As a woman and as a mother I know there is a lot at stake for me, my daughter, and the generations of women to come. We need to send strong leaders like Rep. Himes back to Washington who will continue to work for the people of their districts and our country.

We need someone who continues to protect a woman’s right to choose and stands firmly against the Republican plan to ban abortions nationwide.

We need someone who support universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons to make our communities safer. We need someone who understands climate change is a real crisis and will continue to put measures in place like tax credits for energy efficient home improvements, solar, and clean energy purchases.

We need someone who will expand healthcare eligibility for our veterans and lower the cost of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices.

That someone is Jim Himes.

I urge you to vote for Rep. Himes and send him back to Washington for another term to continue to fight for our communities and families this November.
