TO THE EDITOR:
Bold decisions require courageous leaders. Prudent decisions require leaders with great judgment. Innovative decisions require leaders with vision. Decisions responding to social issues require leaders with compassion and empathy. All decisions require leaders who listen carefully, engage the public, communicate well, consider competing opinions and analyze them thoroughly.
The entire Democratic slate embodies these qualities in abundance. The current Democratic leadership (some of whom are up for reelection, and who will be joined by equally strong first-time candidates) has demonstrated this time and again, whether it’s managing the challenges of Covid, keeping the community informed in stormy weather, preserving the Town’s bond rating, continually improving our students’ educational experience, finding ways to fund infrastructure projects without increasing the tax burden, protecting the environment, enabling the Town to be in a position to enhance its Center and amenities, increasing the opportunities for more community engagement and amplifying and expanding its communication.
Weston is in a position to grow in ways that further buttress its stellar reputation while preserving its small-town community nature and abundant natural resources. All of the candidates on Row A possess the necessary leadership qualities. Please join me in voting Row A (the top Row), and only Row A, on the ballot on November 2.
