Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

I first met Sam Nestor when I was a long-shot candidate for the State Senate and she was a first-time candidate for the Board of Education.

Both political newbies who were driven to public service by some combination of fear and frustration, we became fast friends. Just a few years later, Sam is the First Selectwoman and my trusted partner in governing.

Having worked alongside her, I’ve seen firsthand her dedication to ensuring that Weston’s future is bright. Whether through her effort to promote conservation or her vision to build sidewalks that keep pedestrians safe, Sam has worked tirelessly to address a range of issues important to the health and happiness of those who live here.

I hope to continue working with Sam to secure funding for major infrastructure projects and think creatively about how we can save money for local taxpayers. Her resolve to approach issues intelligently coupled with her commitment to pushing projects forward make her a capable leader, an exceptional colleague and an inspiring friend.

I wholeheartedly endorse Sam Nestor for First Selectman and hope you will join me in supporting her on November 2nd.

Senator Haskell represents Weston in the 26th State Senate district of the Connecticut General Assembly.
