Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

Our family is both stunned and saddened to learn that Peter’s Market is closing.

Like others, we enjoyed the sandwiches, the high quality meats, and baked goods.

We appreciated the community vibe that we often felt on our frequent trips. The staff was consistently pleasant, and many worked at Peter’s for several years. Seeing the Weston students working as cashiers really gave Peter’s Market a local feel which is virtually unique these days.

One Thanksgiving eve, we had forgotten to get hominy for dinner the next day. My wife raced over to Peter’s 5 minutes after closing. Jim was leaving the market, but raced back inside to grab the hominy, and said “pay me later.” That type of service and support is special. We will miss Peter’s Market.
