Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

My name is Greg Murphy and I am a member of Weston's Board of Finance and have lived in Weston since 2001. I have had the pleasure of knowing John Shaban for 11 years. John has always worked effectively to represent the best interests of Weston, Easton and Redding in a non-partisan manner.

Sadly, the last several years have seen Hartford look to stick our towns with teachers pension obligations, regionalize our schools and give neighboring cities control of our zoning. John Shaban has consistently fought back against these efforts to punish our towns.

Now lets consider Anne Hayes' track record. Ms. Hayes has dedicated her efforts to the Progressive Caucus in Hartford and to supporting national protests - not local issues. She has not been focused on the issues our towns are grappling with. I am not confident that she would fight Hartford's efforts to place more financial burdens and controls on our towns and schools.

I strongly believe that John Shaban best represents the interests of our towns.

Stay safe!

— Greg Murphy
