Letter to the Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

I encourage your readers to vote for John Shaban, candidate for Connecticut’s 135th General Assembly District. John cares deeply for the families and communities of Easton, Redding, and Weston, and the future of our great state. As a former General Assembly leader, John is a fierce advocate for responsible budgeting and spending, tax policies that help small businesses grow and create jobs, and laws that protect our environmental resources for future generations.

John is also a staunch defender of Connecticut’s community-based decision-making heritage that sets partisanship aside, to make the best public policies for all families. Unfortunately, the state legislature is controlled today by career politicians who do not share our values.

These politicians in Hartford are working hard to destroy the unique character of our communities. They want to take away our right to manage our own school systems; and impose unfunded regulations on our local police departments and officers - the backbones of our communities - that will make our towns less safe, and treat the officers themselves like criminals.

We desperately need to send John to the General Assembly. He will fight for common sense economic policies, local control of our communities, and of course, the heroes who serve in our police departments.

Please join me in voting for John Shaban for Connecticut General Assembly District 135.
