Lamont, Goldstein Win
Weston Democrats voted resoundingly to give Governor Ned Lamont a chance at a third term, and Dr. Michael Ted Goldstein easily got the town’s Republican nod for another try at unseating Congressman Jim Himes in the fall.
Mr. Lamont will be challenged in the November general election by Republican State Senator Ryan Fazio, who had no primary opposition.
Both results followed broader trends.
Statewide as of 11:30 pm Governor Lamont is on track to defeat State Rep. Josh Elliott by better than two to one, with 86 percent of the vote counted. The Associated Press called the race for Mr. Lamont as soon as polls closed at 8:00 pm.
Overall in the 4th Congressional district, at 11:30 pm Dr. Goldstein leads fellow Republican Daniel Miressi by nearly three to one, with 92 percent of the vote counted.

Voter turnout in Weston was light, about 16 percent for Democrats, 4 percent for Republicans.

In total, 366 Weston voters cast ballots in person on August 11. 197 ballots were cast in seven days of early voting. There were 26 absentee ballots.
