“Go Blue Day” for Weston Police
The Weston Police Department joined members of the Human Services Council for “Go Blue Day” on Thursday morning, signifying support for National Child Abuse Prevention Month and efforts to raise awareness and prevent mistreatment of children.
Pinwheels in front of Police Department headquarters represent the joyful, healthy childhood every child deserves.
Kari Pesavento, program director of the Council’s Children's Connection, said the nonprofit organization’s child advocacy center in Norwalk supports children who have been abused.
The organization works with five area police departments — Weston, Westport, Wilton, New Canaan and Norwalk — and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families on investigation and treatment of child abuse cases.
