“Doors of Weston,” April 19
On April 19, fine art photographer and photojournalist Julie O’Connor discusses “Doors of Weston: 300 Years of Passageways in a Connecticut Town,” her book of photographs first published in 2008 as a collectible limited edition.
In 177 striking images, the book tells a story about Weston over the course of three centuries and its sense of community and relationship with nature. The preface was written by longtime residents Susan and José Feliciano.
The discussion with Ms. O’Connor takes place on Sunday the 19th at 2:00 at the Weston History & Culture Center. Admission is free, but with limited space available, you need to register here.
Ms. O’Connor is a member of Artists Collective of Westport, the National Association of Women Artists, Connecticut Women Artists, Milford Arts Council, Rowayton Arts Center, Silvermine Guild of Artists, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and the Salmagundi Club. She is also an associate member of the Connecticut Fine Academy of Fine Arts. Her work has been published in magazines and newspapers and is in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Copies of “Doors of Weston” can be purchased at the event for $50.00. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted. Proceeds go to Friends of the Weston Public Library, the Weston History & Culture Center, and the Weston League of Women Voters, co-sponsors of the “America 250: The Revolutionary Spirit” series.
