Women’s Club of Weston Turns 60

On March 27 the Women’s Club of Weston marked its 60th year, celebrating with a gala lunch at Aspetuck Valley Country Club.

The social club was founded by a group of six local women in 1966, with 70 women joining that year. Some of the most popular activities in those days were the Gourmet Group, where participants cooked and hosted small dinners at members’ houses, Theater Group, which arranged trips into the city for a show or museum and dinner, and Derby Parties.

Today, the organization counts 82 Weston women and offers a wide array of activities from Wine Tasting and Book Group to Mahjong, Lecture Lunches and Movie Nights.

"We look forward to many more years of getting to know our neighbors. It’s all about friendship, fun and community," said Co-President Maureen Johnson.
