Ukrainian Musicians to Perform
A special concert on March 5 at Westport Country Playhouse features Ukrainian pianist and composer Ruslan Ramazanov, performing with Teryn Kuzma, a Ukrainian-American soprano and accomplished musician on a traditional Ukrainian stringed instrument.
The concert, “Keys for Resilience,” is an evening of classical and traditional music that supports the sister city partnerships formed by Ukraine Aid International between towns in Connecticut and cities in Ukraine’s Donetsk province, a sister state.
The March 5 Playhouse performance takes place at 7:00. Tickets are available here.
Mr. Ramazanov received his classical training at some of Ukraine’s most respected institutions. He was a soloist and ensemble musician with the Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic and the National Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine.
Following the Russian invasion in 2022, Mr. Ramazanov and his family found refuge in the United States. He now works at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music and continues to perform.
Ms. Kuzma is a versatile performer of classical, contemporary, folk, and musical theater. Singing credits include the lead role in the opera “Ruinous Gods.” She is an accomplished instrumentalist on the bandura, a 55-stringed traditional Ukrainian instrument that combines features of a lute and a zither.
