Police Report More Burglaries

Over the course of the past week, two Weston homes were burglarized. Both homes were unoccupied and the residents were out of town. The homes were located on Lords Highway East and Lyons Plain Road.

At the Lords Highway East location, access was gained by breaking through a rear patio door and the house was ransacked. At the Lyons Plain Road location, access was gained through a second-floor window and focused on the primary bedroom suite.

The perpetrators of these crimes are well versed and skilled at avoiding detection by home alarms.

Both burglaries are being investigated by the Weston Police Department. These incidents are not isolated to Weston and are happening throughout the region. Our investigators are collaborating with our partners at other law enforcement agencies and are utilizing all available resources to develop any potential suspects.

Anyone who witnessed unusual activity, or who has video recordings of the area, are asked to contact Detective Joe Mogollon. His email address is jmogollon@westonpolice.com.

We urge all residents to lock their doors and windows, set alarms and ensure any surveillance cameras are functioning properly. It is important to lock vehicles parked outdoors and remove the keys and valuables. If you are traveling, it is recommended to have someone available to monitor your home as frequently as possible. Remain vigilant and be aware of our surroundings. If you notice unusual activity, call Weston Communications at (203) 222-2600 or 911 in an emergency.
