A Change on the Four Corners

The two-acre parcel at 176 Weston Road, one of the four corners in Weston’s town center, has a new owner, whose plans at this point are more intentions than plans, early stage works in progress.

176 Weston Road LLC, a family company formed by Richard Rudolph — a Weston resident for over 25 years — purchased the property from Norfield Congregational Church in October.

The ownership change makes moot a previous, preliminary proposal first introduced in the summer of 2024.

Mr. Rudolph said his first order of business is to restore the circa 1925 Colonial farmhouse, which he said is structurally sound but has “challenging condition issues.” The issues, he said, are “well worth trying to solve to preserve some of our town history.”

As for the rest of the property, Mr. Rudolph said he still has to figure out what to do. “Whatever it is,” he said, “it will match the character of our community and be something we can all be proud of, something that will hopefully draw a lot of community support.”

Mr. Rudolph said he knows “some people will want zero, and some will want everything.” But he welcomes input, and has launched a website that, going forward, he intends to build out with more information.

“I’m a longtime Weston guy,” said Mr. Rudolph. “I’ve never done anything like this. But I’m having fun, and learning a lot too.”
