Weston Police Officer Steven Vichiola, newly promoted to the rank of sergeant, was sworn in at a Town Hall ceremony on October 7.

Police Commission chair Dawn Egan officiated, describing Sgt. Vichiola as “an integral and highly respected member of the Weston Police Department, deeply engaged in the community, with an approachable nature and genuine compassion.”
After a prayer offered by Fr. Augustine of St. Francis of Assisi, First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor administered the oath of office. Ms. Nestor noted pride in having sworn in Sgt. Vichiola when he became a Weston officer in 2021 after two years of service in Southbury.
Police Chief Ed Henion said the department’s first line supervisors, from a chief’s perspective, “are the most important positions in the department.” He said Sgt. Vichiola “has excelled since he arrived here.”
Sgt. Vichiola thanked the Police Commission, Chief Henion, and Captain Joe Miceli. “It’s an honor to work here,” he said.
