Municipal Election: Early Voting, Candidates

Election Day for municipal offices is Tuesday, November 4, but 14 days of early voting precede that date.

On the ballot are these offices and the number of seats:

Voting dates

Election Day: Tuesday, November 4. 6:00 am to 8:00 pm in the Weston Middle School gym. (Use the back entrance.)

Early Voting: October 20 through November 2. Ballots can be cast in the Town Hall Meeting Room from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Exceptions: October 28 and 30, when the hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. (There is no early voting on Monday, November 3.)

Offices and candidates

This year’s election is lightly contested. First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor is unopposed for reelection. Both candidates for Selectman — incumbent Tony Pesco and Lauren Traum — will also win by default. With one exception — the Board of Education — the same is true for all other offices.

Registering to vote

Until October 17, you can register to vote online here.

You can also register by the 17th in person at Town Hall (9:00 am to 4:30 pm), at the Department of Motor Vehicles, and at the Weston Public Library.

The Registrars of Voters will hold a registration session on the 17th in their office at Town Hall from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

You can also mail in a completed registration form, postmarked by October 17. Download it from the Town website.

Failing all that, same-day registration (in person) is available on any of the early voting days and on Election Day, November 4.

Absentee ballots

Absentee ballot applications are available at the Town Clerk’s office from October 3 through November 3. You can also apply on the State web portal. Or, you can download and print an application from the Town Clerk page of the Town website.

Applications and ballots can be dropped in the Ballot Box at Town Hall. Absentee ballots are counted at the middle school polling place on November 4.
