Canta Libre Chamber Ensemble, Sept. 21

It’s harp, flute and strings in Weston on September 21 as the Canta Libre Chamber Ensemble opens the third season of Sunday Soundscapes, the popular series staged by the Friends of the Weston Library.

The performance takes place in the library’s Community Room at 4:00. A donation of $20 for adults and $10 for students is suggested, but not required. Reservations are recommended, as seating is limited.

Here is a preview, the ensemble in concert in 2022 at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Canta Libre came together in 2002 specifically to feature music written for flute, harp and strings. The ensemble have performed at Lincoln Center, at the Music Festival of the Hamptons, at Concerts at One at Trinity Church in Manhattan, the Brooklyn Public Library, and many other venues.

Ensemble members are Sally Shorrock, flute, Bradley Bosenbeck, violin, Veronica Salas, viola, Bernard Tamosaitis, cello, and Karen Lindquist, harp. Each trained at top conservatories, and many have performed and toured internationally with appearances at major festivals, including Aspen, Spoleto, and Tanglewood.
