Strum & Sing on Founders Day

Weston celebrates its 238th birthday on October 11 with a Strum & Sing musical jamboree at 4:00 on the Town Green, and you can be a part of it.
All you need is an acoustic guitar, knowledge of a few simple chords (or the ability to learn them), and to be at least ten years old.
The event is organized by Jesse Shafer, known to many as a member of the popular local band Good Godfrey. Mr. Shafer said, “This is more than just a short concert. It’s a perfect chance to reconnect with Weston’s rich artistic past, when music and community were at the heart of town life.”
Contact Mr. Shafer by email to sign up. You will be provided early access to song choices, simple chord charts, and more details.
As a bonus, you will be entered into a giveaway drawing for free guitar lessons at Bach to Rock in Ridgefield.
Of course, if you prefer being in the audience to being on stage, you can enjoy cider, donuts, and entertainment on Founders Day, a community gathering and celebration sponsored by the Weston Commission for the Arts.
