Officer Judson Brown Jr. became the latest new member of the Weston Police Department in a swearing-in ceremony at Town Hall on July 21.

“We’re not installing a newbie here,” said Police Commissioner David Muller, citing Officer Brown’s 11 years experience in law enforcement, beginning in 2014 with the Bridgeport police.

For the past three years, Officer Brown has served in Shelton, and is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor administered the oath of office, and Officer Brown’s badge was pinned to his uniform by his father as members of his family looked on.

Chief Henion said Officer Brown was “an outstanding candidate” throughout the testing and interview process. “We attract these officers because this is a great town to work in,” he said.
