Ukrainian Village Voices Entertain

Singers in the Ukrainian Village Voices ensemble entertained a large audience at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Sunday, performing a dozen seasonal, ritual, and lyrical songs from rural Ukraine, some ages old.

In case you missed it, this two-minute video is a sample of the program, including the singalong at the end:

The performance was the latest offering in the Sunday Soundscapes series put on by Friends of the Weston Library and the conclusion of its second season. A third season begins in September with the renowned chamber ensemble Canta Libre.

Back by popular demand in November will be violinist Jason Yanick and his jazz combo, who wowed the audience two years ago.

The Sunday Soundscapes series covers a wide range of musical genres. The Friends of the Weston Library accept donations at the door, and particularly appreciate larger contributions to keep the programs coming. Donations can be made here.
