Westport Police Expect Traffic Issues

A planned Saturday morning “No Kings” protest in the area of Westport’s Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge on Route 1 will create heavy traffic congestion and possible road closures in the town’s downtown corridor, according to an advisory by the Westport police.

The march begins at 11:00. The police, notified of the march in advance by organizers, expect attendance “to exceed 1,000 people.” The police “will have a significant presence in the area to assist with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic,” and “encourage motorists to find alternate routes.”
