Jennifer D’Amico Named WIS Principal

The Weston Public School District has named Jennifer D’Amico as the new principal of Weston Intermediate School, as of July 1.
Most recently, Ms. D’Amico has been assistant principal and interim principal of Hindley Elementary School in the Darien school district. Her career includes work teaching in elementary grades 2, 3, and 4, as a math interventionist, and as a leader of professional learning programs.
Juliane Givoni, director of human resources in the Weston district, said Ms. D’Amico “emerged as an outstanding candidate in our rigorously designed selection process.”
Superintendent Lisa Barbiero said Ms. D’Amico “exhibited a warm and approachable demeanor, yet demonstrated her unwavering commitment to upholding high expectations for students and staff.”
Ms. D’Amico holds a Sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership, a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and a Master’s in Education, all from the University of Connecticut.
Introduced at the Board of Education meeting on March 17, Ms. D’Amico said, “It is such an honor to be entrusted with the principalship of Weston Intermediate School. I have come to see the pride, dedication, and joy in the Weston Public Schools. Upholding the traditions and values this community holds while growing together is beyond exciting.”
