The Weston Board of Police Commissioners is accepting nominations for its annual Citizen of the Year award, which recognizes an outstanding citizen who makes a unique contribution to the town.

Historically, recipients of the award have been involved in programs, committees, or organizations that contribute to public safety or the quality of life in Weston.

Nominations, accepted until May 6, can be sent to selection committee chair Kirby Brendsel by email to kbrendsel@westonct.gov or by postal mail to 12 Godfrey Road West, Weston CT 06883.

Commissioner Brendsel said a selection will be made in early May. The award will be presented in June.

Nominations should highlight noteworthy achievements or projects that demonstrate the nominee’s accomplishments and commitment. The award goes to someone “with unwavering dedication, leadership, and selflessness” whose contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of residents “while exemplifying the spirit of community and civic responsibility.”
