“Seared” on Stage at Lachat

Brian’s Kitchen at Lachat Town Farm is the setting for “Seared,” the hit Off-Broadway comedy about a small, struggling Brooklyn restaurant suddenly with an opportunity to make it big, and all the tensions and dynamics that go with it.

At press time, tickets for opening weekend were a bit scarce, but tickets for all nine performances between the March 7 opening and the finale on March 23 are available here.

Harry (Jonathan Hopkins), a gifted chef, is more than a little on the perfectionist side. A rave review of his scallops dish could put the restaurant on the map, but to the chagrin of Mike, his business partner (Brian Yeun), he refuses to make it again.

Things heat up in the kitchen when Mike brings in Emily, a consultant (Melanie Carrié). Add Rodney, a waiter with his own agenda (Ricky Davis Jr.), and things get even more complicated.

Photos of the cast of professional actors and scenes from the show are in the slideshow below.

The cooking in the play is real, and so is the food (scallops and salmon). None of it will be served to the audience, but those with seafood allergies or sensitivities are still cautioned.

The bar will be open before the performance and during intermission. On opening weekend, everyone in the audience can enjoy a free champagne toast.
