Richard Wiese Elected Explorers Club President

Weston resident Richard Wiese has been elected president of The Explorers Club, the global organization founded in 1904 that is dedicated to field research, scientific exploration, and resource conservation.
Viewers of the Emmy Award-winning ABC and PBS program “Born to Explore” will instantly recognize Mr. Wiese, the program’s host and executive producer. Hailed by The Explorers Club as a “renowned explorer and science communicator,” Mr. Wiese will be the organization’s 46th president.
“The Explorers Club,” said Mr. Wiese, “has been home to many of history’s great explorers, including Jane Goodall, Neil Armstrong, and Sylvia Earle. I am honored to take on this role and continue its mission of advancing science and discovery while reflecting a diverse and global community of explorers.”
“As someone with strong ties to Weston,” he said, “this milestone reflects my personal journey and the inspiring power of exploration to connect people and foster understanding worldwide.”
