Members of the Weston Field Club were notified on Friday by the club’s board of governors that, due to the recent discovery of longstanding “financial irregularities,” the club is closed until further notice.

The board also advised members that the club’s general manager has been dismissed and that “all club activities are suspended,” including at least some facilities.

Acknowledging that this development was unexpected and “shocking,” the private club’s board scheduled a virtual membership meeting for further discussion.
