A new musical event in Weston takes place on Sunday, September 8 as the traditional Emmanuel Fair makes a major pivot, becoming the Emmanuel Music Fest.

It all takes place on the lawn and concert venue of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 285 Lyons Plain Road from 1:00 to 5:00.

The festival features five curated musical performances, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream sundaes, wine and beer, a country kitchen bake sale, an art sale, and a bounce house for the kids.

Musical performances cover a range of genres:

  • At 1:00, Beggars and Choosers perform upbeat songs from the 1980s, ‘90s, and today.
  • At 1:45, you will hear a capella mixed voice singing by the Coastal Mix Barbershop Chorus.
  • At 2:30, it’s Herman and Company, high energy classic rock covering the 1960s to the ‘90s.
  • At 3:15, Chris Coogan and his Jazz Trio, who barely need introduction in Weston, with musical stylings rooted in jazz and gospel.
  • At 4:00, it’s St. Luke’s Steel Band, which started in New Haven in 1999 with the purchase of a set of used steel pans, playing a repertoire of soca, calypso, reggae, classical, sacred, jazz, popular, and island folk music.

Admission to Emmanuel Music Fest is free (a donation is suggested), but bring your own seating unless you have purchased VIP tickets.
