The Weston Public School District announced the appointment of Matthew Hartigan as the assistant director of pupil services at Weston High School.
Mr. Hartigan comes to Weston from the Greenwich public school system, where he served most recently as assistant principal of the Julian Curtiss elementary school. He has been a special educator for the past 16 years.
Tracy Edwards, director of pupil services in the Weston school district, said Mr. Hartigan “brings a breadth of experience to the role” and is recognized as a “leader who builds trusting relationships with staff and families.”
Mr. Hartigan holds a certificate of advanced study in special education from Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s in education of social studies from St. Lawrence University. He replaces Benjamin Neumann, who will return to Weston High School this year as a special education teacher.
