Thomas Sheridan Glass
April 17, 1942 — July 3, 2024
Thomas Glass, known to all simply as “Tom,” was born to Helen and Thomas Glass on April 17, 1942, in New Haven, CT, the first of two children.
Growing up, Tom was a talented athlete, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball at Saint Mary’s High School. Later, at the University of New Haven, Tom played basketball on the varsity squad.
Professionally, Tom was a loyal employee of both Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal in New York City. Between 1969 and 2001, Tom worked in advertising sales, and for more than three decades, he made an indelible mark on those around him with his exuberance and larger-than-life personality. He served as the Director of Agency Relations at The Wall Street Journal, where his role showcased his exceptional ability to connect with people and build strong relationships.
It was these traits that served him well in the community of Weston, too, where he and his wife, Patty, settled down in 1987. There, he was a passionate supporter of the Weston schools, sports teams, and, of course, his beloved Kiwanis Club. Tom was known for his social nature and his love for engaging with others, making him a cherished figure in the community.
He is survived by Patty, his wife of 55 years, two children, David and Tracy, their respective spouses, Erin and Nick, and four grandchildren: Graydon (8), Avery (7), Weatherly (6), and Leighton (4).
A Celebration of Life will be held for Tom in Weston this summer.
