SOLFEST, an arts and music festival from WestonArts, takes place on Saturday, June 22 on the Hurlbutt Elementary School grounds.
It all starts at noon and runs until 10:00. Through 7:00, more than 30 artists and artisans offer items for sale and a juried art show features works by local artists. At 6:00, popular local bands take the SOLFEST Concert stage until 10:00.
Special festival attractions include the WestonArts studio, where you can create art of your very own and try your hand at the Japanese art of origami. A free, interactive photo booth is open from noon to 5:00, and aspiring rock musicians can try out a variety of instruments.
Make a picnic of it. Food trucks will be on hand with food, snacks, and beverages.
The SOLFEST Concert from 6:00 to 10:00 features performances by crowd favorites American Blues Act, Owen B and the Circuit, Caravan, and The Peanuts.
SOLFEST’s rain date is Sunday, June 23.
In the photos, “Still Life with Fluted Platter” by Julie Leff is part of the WestonArts juried show. The jewelry is an example of handmade work in the booth of Michelle Lim. Musicians depicted are, clockwise from the left, The Peanuts, Remi Young of Caravan, and Owen B and the Circuit.
