Music at the Barn returns to the Weston History & Culture Center with five Sunday concerts on June 9, June 30, July 14, July 28 and September 8.
Popular Fairfield County bands take the stage from 5:30 in the evening to 7:00. The concerts are bring-your-own lawn chairs, picnic fare, and beverages.
Tickets for the shows can be purchased at the door or in advance at the WHCC website: $15 per person for members, $20 general admission for non-members. Free for children age 12 and under.
Sunday, June 9: Logical Pretzel
A pizza truck will be on hand for the kickoff concert by crowd favorite Logical Pretzel, playing the music of Steely Dan, including the hits “Rikki Don’t Lose that Number” and “My Old School.” Recently, the band has performed at the Norwalk Oyster Festival, Park City Music Hall, BRYAC, and Sugar Hollow Tap Room.
Sunday, June 30: Fuzz
Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer Fuzz, known for his energetic performances, has for years been an international touring and recording artist in projects like Deep Banana Blackout, Caravan of Thieves, and Big Fuzz. He has shared a stage with The Allman Brothers, John Scofield, Keb Mo, Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck, members of Phish, and the James Brown Band.
Sunday, July 14: Moss
This concert features a Teen Night Ticket Special, $5.00 tickets for teens age 13 to 19. One of the newest bands around, Moss — named for its members, Matt Anto, Owen Trotzer, Sophie Levy, Sophia Kryzynski, and Sean Cammarano — plays rock, indie, and funk/R&B covers and original songs in a repertoire spanning the golden era of rock to the latest chart-toppers.
Sunday, July 28: Parker’s Tangent
An established rock band based in New Haven, Parker’s Tangent plays original rock music based on blues and roots ranging from the poetic and touching to full-on blues and rock. Over nearly 20 years, the band has performed at venues like Toad’s Place, the New Haven Green, The International Festival of Arts and Ideas, Westport’s Blues, Views and Bar-B-Que Festival, and Long Wharf Theater.
Sunday, September 8: Faster Things
The Music at the Barn summer series closes with Faster Things, an Allman Brothers tribute band with Eliot Cabot on guitar and vocals, Scott Casher on bass, Dave Hermantin on drums, Tom Schmidt on the keys, and JD Seem on guitar, slide guitar, and vocals. All are musicians who grew up with Allman Brothers music and remain first and foremost fans of the band and its legacy.
