Carol Baldwin and Ellen McCormick, founders of Lachat Town Farm, have been named the 2024 Citizens of the Year by the Weston Police Commission.

The commission’s announcement describes recipients of the annual award as those who “have a history of involvement in programs, committees, or organizations that enhance public safety or the quality of life, leaving a positive impact on our town.”

Commissioner Dawn Egan, chair of the selection committee, said, “We look for individuals who embody character, integrity, and accomplishment.” She added that a number of well-deserving candidates were nominated this year, but the selection committee found “Carol and Ellen’s contributions were exceptional. Their names have become synonymous with a vision that came to fruition.”

Ms. Baldwin and Ms. McCormick will be presented their awards on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:00 in the Offutt Center at Lachat. The event is open to everyone in the community. For more information, contact Ms. Egan at (203) 451-4964.
