On May 16, a lightly attended Special Town Meeting unanimously approved a lease of town-owned unusable land at the transfer station to be used for a solar energy array.
The Town bears none of the cost of building and operating the facility. Instead, the Town will receive $21,700 a year in lease payments from Greenskies Clean Energy, a North Haven firm.
Once various approvals and permits are obtained, Greenskies plans to build the array this summer, a process that will take two months.
