This year’s Lachat Winter Market, on Saturday, will be the first to take advantage of the new Offutt Center that opened in September, meaning weather won’t matter much.
As it is, the forecast at this point is favorable anyway, but winter hasn’t officially begun, so one feature of the market is a coat drive. You can donate gently used winter coats for children and adults served by Open Doors, a homeless shelter and community resource center in Norwalk.
The market itself is an opportunity to shop for holiday gifts or just for yourself. Local vendors offer art, clothing, jewelry, housewares, baked goods and locally produced foods. Hot beverages will be sold in in the Lachat Bar, and drinks for kids and adults will be available too.
The Lachat Winter Market is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 2. You can park on the lower field lot (at the main entrance on 106 Godfrey Road West), assuming space is available. No parking reservations are needed.
