Veterans Day Events, November 10

A Veterans Day ceremony takes place on Friday, November 10 at the Memorial Garden on the Town Green (in front of Town Hall).

The morning ceremony will be held at 11:10. Before and after, veterans and their spouses are invited to events in their honor.

Parking will be available for veterans at Weston Middle School, and a van will be on hand for transport to other events and back to the lot. At 8:00 am, a continental breakfast (prepared by faculty and staff) will be served in the cafeteria.

Then, an all-school assembly in the gym honors veterans. Three middle school grades perform “A Red, White and Blue Extravaganza.”

After that, a living history session in the Library features informal talks by veterans, describing their service experience to small groups of 8th grade students.

At about 10:40, the Senior Center van will be there for transport to the Town Green for the Veterans Day ceremony. At 11:40, the van will transport to Weston High School for a noon lunch, where students will visit.

The program concludes at 1:00. The Senior Center van will transport back to the middle school.

The Veterans Committee asks those wishing to enjoy the special events to help them plan by registering here. (No registration is necessary for the 11:10 am public ceremony on the Green.)
