Jazz Coming to “Sunday Soundscapes”

Jason Anick

Friends of the Weston Library knocked it out of the park in September with “A Night at the Opera,” the debut of their new Sunday Soundscapes series, and are poised to do it again.

On November 12 at 4:00 in the library Community Room, it’s a pivot from light opera to jazz, as celebrated violinist Jason Anick teams up with pianist Matt DeChamplain in a tribute to jazz greats Oscar Peterson and Stephane Grappelli.

What’s more, you will hear a taste of “gypsy jazz” from New York guitarist Matt Munisteri and Brazilian-born bassist Eduardo Belo. Think the legendary Django (Reinhardt, not the movie) and you get the picture.

You can reserve a seat here. The Friends suggest a donation at the door, $20 for adults, $10 for students, or whatever amount is comfortable.

You can also help keep the Soundscapes series going with a donation to the Friends of the Weston Library.
