“Sunday Soundscapes” to Debut

A new concert series, “Sunday Soundscapes,” launches on September 17 at the Weston Public Library, beginning with “A Night at the Opera.”

The program, brought to you by Friends of the Weston Library, features performances by singers from Vermont Opera. It runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Seats for the concert can be reserved here. The Friends suggest a $20 donation (at the door) for adults and $10 for students, but also say that, if necessary, more affordable donations are welcome.

The Friends say the program features “favorite tunes from Mozart to Puccini to Bernstein.” More about the Vermont Opera company can be found here.

Future concerts in the Sunday Soundscapes series are scheduled for November, March, May, and July. Each date will feature different musical genres.

The Friends website already has a brief preview of upcoming programs, including a November performance by rising jazz violin and mandolin star Jason Anick with his combo, and in March the music of Serenade Duo on flute and guitar.
