Dawn Rivera and Michael Guido were elected as members of the Weston Republican Town Committee at its meeting on August 8.

“We continue to recruit excellent new candidates to the RTC,” said Chairman Stephan Grozinger. The RTC has added seven new members since June and continues to seek individuals dedicated to improving town government as members of the RTC as well as in elected and appointed positions.

“Thanks to the efforts of our existing and new members, the RTC has new energy. We are repositioning ourselves to offer creative solutions to the challenges that face Weston,” said Mr. Grozinger.

Dawn Rivera has lived in Weston since childhood. She and her husband raised two daughters who attended the Weston Public Schools. Dawn attended Lehigh University in Pennsylvania where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in urban studies. She graduated with academic distinction and was selected for multiple honor societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma (business), and the Financial Management Association.

Dawn worked in Manhattan for Citicorp for seven years in corporate banking. She completed an eighteen-month management training program upon entering and was later sponsored to attend the prestigious Citicorp Institute for Global Finance with advanced education in accounting, finance, and economics. Dawn was involved in the origination of corporate loans and the marketing of banking products to Fortune 500 companies across the retail sector and later specialized in the maritime shipping industry sector. After obtaining Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses, Dawn joined the bank’s efforts in capital markets origination for the issuance of investment grade bonds and commercial paper.

Dawn previously served on the Weston Republican Town Committee from 2012 until 2018 and held multiple offices including Vice Chairman. Dawn also served as President of the Weston Newcomers and Neighbors Club, comprised of almost 200 families then, and served on the board and as an officer over a ten-year period. Dawn is a choir member at Emmanuel Episcopal Church and participates in providing meals to the Gillespie Community Kitchen.
