The Weston Public Library kicks off the “2023 Summer Reading: All Together Now” challenge on Friday, June 23, complete with a full suite of events, programs, and prizes for all ages.

This summer, the theme All Together Now is about bringing friends, families, and neighbors together through reading and activities. When participants come in to register, they will receive a free tote bag that they are encouraged to personalize by decorating with pins, patches, markers, and more to make their bag their own. Participants will earn those accessories as well as raffle tickets for every 120 minutes of reading. Remember: this is for all ages so get the whole family involved! Readers can track their progress using a paper log or via Beanstack.

The library will also feature a host of events designed to appeal to a wide range of interests. For youth, we will begin with our Summer Reading Kickoff events from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm on Friday, June 23, where kids can get started decorating bags while enjoying games, crafts, and special guests Bring the Hoopla!

Through August 18, the library will host events featuring music, STEM, hula-hoops, animals, Henna, career and college prep, and more. All these are in addition to our regularly scheduled weekly playgroups and clubs.

For adults, we will be kicking off summer with a Zoom talk titled “Juneteenth: A Candid Conversation” on Thursday, June 22 at 7:00 pm followed by a Trans 101 workshop on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:30 pm and a Paint Your Pet art workshop on Thursday, June 29 at 6:00 pm. Thereafter, adults are encouraged to participate in mystery book displays, arts & crafts workshops, learning about autism, yoga classes, trivia nights, picking up the ukulele, and winning one of our two raffles.

There’s so much going on this summer at the library; we hope you will join us! To see our full calendar of events, please visit www.westonpubliclibrary.org.
