“Westport What’s Happening”

In a podcast by the Y’s Men of Westport-Weston, Westport First Selectwoman Jen Tooker and Police Chief Foti Koskinas discuss their trip to Westport’s sister city of Lyman, Ukraine, an experience Ms. Tooker describes as “incredibly emotional.”

Chief Koskinas says it is even more emotional after the fact, and talks about the process of traveling in Ukraine. Ms. Tooker says she was struck by the kindness and level of protection they were afforded. The chief describes security in more detail.

Ms. Tooker describes the needs of Lyman and how Westport contributions are already making a difference in Lyman, with more intended to come. Only 2,000 residents remain in the city, 85 percent of it destroyed. But they are beginning to rebuild, even while the war goes on.

New editions of the podcast appear on Mondays, alternating between Ms. Tooker and Weston First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor.
