Body Discovered at Reservoir

From a Weston Police Department report:

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, the Weston Emergency Communication Center received a call reporting the possible location of a human body along the shoreline of the Saugatuck Reservoir.

Officers from the Weston Police Department immediately responded to the area, where they were met by a member of Aquarion Water Company security.

The officers were able to confirm that a person was face down in the water and was not presenting signs of life. The Weston Volunteer Fire Department was requested to the scene to assist in recovering the individual from the water.

The individual, later identified as a female in her 60s from a nearby town, was subsequently removed from the water and brought to land. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Weston Police Department is currently working with the State of Connecticut Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. No foul play is suspected.
