Weston Police officers conducted a bicycle safety session for first and second grade boys and girls in Scouts programs on Monday. The kids also learned a bit about fire safety and, with troop leaders, toured police headquarters.

School Resource Officers Joe Mogollon and Jason Kim covered the importance of wearing helmets, awareness of what drivers can and cannot see on the road and in parking lots, safe riding practices and equipment, what to do at stop signs, and making sure parents know where they are riding.

The officers also emphasized the importance of having fun on bicycles, and led riding drills around cones in the police parking area.
