Politics & Pie With State Legislators, May 7

Sen. Ceci Maher, Rep. Anne Hughes. Weston Today

State Senator Ceci Maher and Representative Anne Hughes answer questions and discuss state and local affairs at a special Weston League of Women Voters event, “Politics and Pie,” on Sunday, May 7.

The event takes place from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Weston Public Library. If weather permits, it will be held outdoors on the lawn. Otherwise, indoors.

The gathering is designed to be family-friendly, doubly so by featuring sweet and savory pies from a local bakery. For some, it may be the first in-person opportunity to meet and discuss matters with their state legislators.

Ms. Hughes has represented Weston in the Connecticut House of Representatives since 2019. Redding and most of Easton are also in her district, the 135th.

Ms. Maher was elected to the State Senate in November of 2022. In addition to Weston, her 26th Senate district includes Redding, Westport, Wilton, and parts of Darien, New Canaan, Ridgefield, and Stamford.

The Connecticut General Assembly is currently in its long session, which ends on June 7.
