Young Boys Track Team Aims High

Despite returning only a small group of top performing athletes, the 2023 Trojan boys track team hopes to place in the top 10 in the state and top 5 in the SWC.

The young team will look for some freshman and sophomores to step up and contribute.

The seniors are led by Jack Haythorn and Jay Watson. Haythorn will run the hurdles and relays and compete in the triple jump. Watson will lead the short sprint group and also compete in the relays.

Junior Cameron Miles has established himself as a top performer in distance events, having already earned all-state honors in cross country and indoor track, where he won the Class M 1000 meter event. He will run the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter events this season and will likely help out on the 4x400 relay.

Junior Blake Robinson will be counted on in the high jump, while sophomores Nick Masters (long sprints) and Becan Huck (800 meters) are expected to score significant points.
