Police Toy Drive Still Running

Saturday’s “Stuff a Police Humvee” toy drive by the Weston Police Benevolent Association drew a warm response from the community.

Toys can still be dropped off in the Police Department lobby through December 20. They go to kids in the community and at the Early Childhood Center of the Danbury Public School System, a preschool designed and built to educate children with special needs.

The school staff asks that donations be “cause and effect” items made for preschool age children, toys that are interactive and stimulate thought and motor skills.

The school also needs Play-Doh, clay, paint, construction paper, balls, and “Little Tikes” type plastic playground equipment, new or lightly used. Also being collected: new or lightly used children’s winter coats and clothing.

For more information about the PBA Holiday Toy Drive, please contact Weston Police Sergeant Patrick Daubert by email to pdaubert@westonpolice.com.

Sgt. Daubert got an assist from Tyler Umhoefer, Cameron Collins, and Daniel Carter.

With a couple of hours yet to go, the Humvee was already filling up.
